Regardless of the sport, every season has a defining moment; it could be a walk-off home run, a buzzer-beating three-pointer or a defensive stop on the 1-yard line, but there is always one play or performance that fans and teammates alike will remember.
For the San Diego State track and field team, that moment came on June 13 at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
With the team's overall placement in her hands, sophomore pole vaulter Stephanie Bagan took on three other finalists from around the country to decide its event's national champion.
But just one mistake by the West Regional champion was all it took to spoil her opportunity.
